JN Kites
JN (Jochum and Nesler) have been making kites under the JN brand since 2004. Mike Nesler handles the design side of things, and his partner Bernd Jochum does the management. Before that they were designing kites for some of the big names in the industry. Their first kite, the Wild Thing was a high performance monster and also a graphic design masterpiece. This was followed by the orignial Prima Donna which performed extremely well with the change in direction to wakestyle.
A mean looping and unhooking machine. Since then they have followed up these kites with a successful range of high performance C shapes and newer hybrid designs appealing to all sectors of the market.
JN are aware that they have a direct influence on work ethics in the world; that’s why they work with international partners and subcontractors who maintain decent working standards as a matter or course. JN use only the highest quality material and use cutting-edge design software and extensive prototyping to produce some of the finest kitesurfing equipment on the market. JN products have a soul. This is reflected in the excellent graphic design provided by Christa Flora and her team, so not only do the kites fly amazingly, they also look visually incredible and distinctive.
The JN team riders continue to do extremely well in international competition. Leander Vyvey and Mike Shitzhofer are currently racking up excellent results in the world tours with Leander achieving 2nd on the KPWT Freestyle in 2008 and Mike placing well in the PKRA all year. The team riders contribute to the design of the kites and boards and their feedback provides an organic approach to the R&D process.
JN Vision
The art of creating tomorrow’s sporting goods doesn’t come from reading trend statistics. We stick to our own recipe: We spend time outdoors, join in, look inside and try to feel what makes people happy.
